    Ammo question

I have ordered a S&W bodyguard. It is chambered for .38 +P. I know .38 and .38+P is he same size ammo, just a hotter load. Am I correct? Also I can shoot straight .38 rounds thru it as well as the +P's, correct? Thanks

Yes, your good to go. Use the +P as self defense loads and the standard loads for plinking. Fun revolver.

Yep, standard pressure ammo is good to go in a firearm rated for +P ammo, just not vice-versa.

If your new revolver is going to be used as a carry or home defense weapon, you might want to check out the Speer Short Barrel Gold Dots, as they're designed and loaded for use in snub nose guns.

If you've got the S&W bodyguard revolver, yes you can shoot both .38 specials and .38 special +P's through it. +P will pack a harder punch. Personally I'd use regular .38's for plinking/range use and .38 +p's for it's intended CCW or home defense use. Of course, shoot a few +P's before deciding to put your life on them first, just to get used to them.

Did you use 2 threads for that one question?? But yes you may.

And start with some wadcutters. In that gun, I found the regular .38 to be noticeably stouter, and +P to be quite authoritative!

I have big hands - Glocks are perfect for me - and this small gun is hard for me to hold with the higher powered loads. But it's my wife's gun, and it's all OK for her.

The Gold Dot for short barreled revolvers seem to be out of stock everywhere...
