    School me on CZ's

    So, I held a few handguns this AM. I LOVE my Glock but I'm looking to add some diversity like a 1911 etc. I held a 9mm CZ SP-01 and wow....it felt amazing. So teach me about the different models their number system has me all confused.

    75B is good stuff. There getting really popular with the competition crowd. Pretty friggin reliable, I love the look and heritage, was one of the most common pistols 80's police forces in East Europe, if my history recalls. I prefer the Decocker model, but its very decent even with the safety. Very accurate IMO.

      I have a 75B in .40 S&W. Great accurate gun. However, I do have an issue with the trigger backlash hurting my trigger finger after extended firing. I like it though and will definately keep it.

        I love my cz 75B in .40! It's possibly my favorite gun, all three of my brothers and my father have asked to buy it from me on several occasions. It's accurate and the all steel construction really helps take some of the snap out of the .40 round.

          If a cz 75 feels good, try a browning hi power. Both are fine weapons

            Love my cz75 in 9mm, very accurate out of the box. The trigger pull gets better with more rounds you send down. I have huge hands, so the beaver tail sits a bit low, but the overall ergonomics just feels right. For future customization, look into cz customs, or Cajun gun works.

              None of the responses are what the OP was asking for, he/she asked what the different model are and what features they include.

              Sorry I dont know much about CZ's OP.

                True, but the subject is vast, and he should do some easily found internet reading to start with. CZ USA for instance.

                    I'm no expert, but I have done a little research on these lately, and just bought myself an SP-01 for the very reason you stated above, that and all the rave reviews from CZ owners.

                    I got the SP-01 rather than just a regular 75B because I wanted the rail.

                    It does get a little confusing between all the different models. I'm going off memory here, and if I make any mistakes here I won't get butt-hurt if CZ experts correct me.

                    I'd recommend determining what manual of arms and features you want and that will narrow it down for you.

                    Do you want DA/SA or SAO? Safety or de-cocker? Railed or not?

                    SP-01 = Railed DA/SA w/safety
                    SP-01 Tactical = Railed DA/SA w/De-Cocker (Non-roster - have to SSE)
                    75B = DA/SA w/safety
                    75BD = DA/SA w/De-Cocker
                    75BSA (is that the model #?) = SA only

                    There's more, but that's really all the one's I was looking at, and you get the idea.

                    I've still not shot mine, but that will be remedied very soon.

                    I'm sure ZFields will chime in with some wisdom.

                    I've never heard anybody on here say they regretted buying a CZ.

                    *ETA* I don't know about Modesto, but the SP-01's can be hard to come by down here in San Diego; I found a shop with 2 in stock, but everywhere else was quoting me 4 months lead time, or saying "we can order it for you but we don't know when they'll come in".

                    You should probably use that as an excuse to just go buy it. Your welcome...

                        I have a P01 which is the compact version of the SP01. It really feels like an extension of my arm, and is very accurate. I've owned mine for several years and it has thousands of rounds through it with no problems whatsoever. It even feeds well using a Promag that I got for cheap (though I wouldn't recommend them).

                        The P01 is the gun that excelled in NATO testing:

                          The 75 series has been around since, well, 1975, and most have ergonomics to match. The design of newer models such as the P-01/06 and the SP-01 pays more attention to ergonomics, and feels much better in my hand.

                          The SP-01 is steel, and weighs in at around 3 lbs. It's heavy, but the reduced recoil and improved ergonomics make it worth the price difference for me compared to the older 75's.

                          The P-01 is an alloy and compact decocker, and still dead-on accurate despite being smaller/lighter. I actually shoot better with the P-01 (3.8") than I do with 4.5" XD (which I also really like), and even better with the SP-01.

                          If you don't mind the drive there are a few ranges in the Bay Area that rent SP-01's (Reed's for sure). I've held guns that I thought felt great but simply didn't perform well on the range for me, so putting a few rounds through one will help tell you if it's what you really want.

                              From my first hand experience, I got a cz75b 9mm its a good gun and everything, but the 75 series cz's got nothing on glocks, except more weight which many people seem to not like. With that being said, if cz is the route you decide to good down defiantly go with the best cz currently has to offer, p01 being one. Their also not much more expensive than the 75's neither only like $100-$150 more and your getting a flat out superior pistol. If you haven't already check out cz's website they got IMO all the technical data you'd ever need.
