        By protruding out of the slide, the extractor doubles as a LCI (loaded chamber indicator).

          Pic shown has nothing in the chamber. I did double check, and with round in chamber, it's the same. Good idea if it worked

                Normal. The extractor needs room to move, the rear end that you see is behind the pivot point. Beneath it is the spring that supplies tension to the extractor claw.

                If you do a slo-mo chambering, you will see that protruding end go into the slide, then rise back out when the slide is fully forward.
