    Swapping barrels and slides ?

    I have question and was wondering if this was legal to swap barrels and slides with out doing a ppt. I have a feeling it's not because slide, frame, and barrel have serial#. thanks for answers was confronted with said question.

    Complete or partial uppers are considered parts (there are a few rare exceptions though).

      And this is for hand guns correct so if two people swap then is fine. Would this cause serious questions from Leo if he where to check for whatever reason and noticed that frame and slide didn't match.

      Because I also wanted to trade my xd for tactical and know that swapping works but didn't know If it was fine without any type of paperwork.

        It's a non-issue. On a handgun, only the lower is considered the firearm, same as on an AR.
