I own a Series I Ultra Carry and it's okay. I honestly prefer the 4 inch barreled "compact" format for its added reliability and improved ballistics over a 3". It's just as concealable (see photo) and a better way to go. Unfortunately there isn't much to choose from that's on the roster of approved handguns. I went with a Kimber Compact CDP because it's available in California. If I were not limited by the state approved list I'd probably buy a Dan Wesson CCO or S&W 1911ES, but neither is available to mere mortals here in California.

Listed from the bottom left: Kimber Ultra Carry, Kimber Compact CDP, Springfield Armory, S&W PC1911."Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else." --FREDERIC BASTIAT--
