    Sig 229 E2

    take a special magazine?? I did not think so but saw this on the Sigforums website under a seller who was selling Mec Gar mags.

    Sig P228/P229 10 round 9mm fit blued (not for the P229 E2 or P229-1) $19.95
    Sig P228/P229 10 round 9mm nickel finish (not for the P229 E2 or P229-1) $21.95

    No idea. My 228 E2 takes the same mags from before (then again; I bought and installed an E2 grip onto it).

      Should be fine with any... doesn't change the magwell or frame.

        It will take the same magazines and that is a good thing. The kit does not affect the magwell.

          It isn't referring to a 9mm 229 that is fitted with the E2 conversion grip kit. The different E2 229 in 9mm takes a different magazine as they changed the frame...it is now the same as the .40 and 357Sig frame

            Just to add to this, the newer P229's (late 2010 to current?) do in fact have larger magazine wells built on the .40 frame and come with Ergonomically Enhanced (E2) grips already installed. As such, old P229 magazines will not fit well if at all. If you're looking for additional magazines for the newer P229's, get the ones that are specifically designated as "P229-1".
