    Weird USP45 mag prob?

i have 5 factory hk usp 45 magazines, they are all loaded with the same rounds, ( i have not tried different brand of ammunition, but i remember me thinking about this before a while ago) (Starfire).

anyways with all 5 magazines loaded, only one magazine will go in fairly easier then the other 4, (slide closed) and while ejecting the mag, only that one ejects easy. the other 4 magazines are very hard to push the button. one time the button actually got stuck down, but mag wouldn't come out.

    any ideas?

Is there debris or crud in the indents in the magazine which lock them in place on the pistol?

    Is the magwell clean?

By the way, put up some photos!

Sweet pics! Is that a P-38 behind your lady? I've always wanted to shoot one.

Anyways, have you ever engaged the lock on the pistol? You know the one with the key?

Ah. Well, check and see if it's been used. I've heard that HK ships the pistols from the factory with the safety engaged and that if it's not disengaged before use, the hammer strut can be damaged, which would cause the magazines to not drop free when empty.

My guess would be that the magazines in question are ten round mags.

With many types of ten round mags in many handguns, it is hard to insert the mag with the slide in battery. This is because there is a small amount of vertical movement of the follower necessary to seat the mag against the spring.

In a ten round mag the manufacturer must make sure that 11 rounds won't fit, so they tend to minimize the vertical play of the follower, leading to more force being required to seat the mag.

Check and see if there are any burrs on the mag catch cut outs on your magazines.

another thing is to make sure your mags arent split in the back where the seams are... I had kinda same issue where they were hard to drop free and sometimes it would just fall out under firing conditions...

I'm a mechanic and welder, I'm no tard, I do have an eye for detail. So being accused of not checking for burrs or dirt n such, I'm a little offended, but David seems to have a very interesting point. Perhaps I could sand the back side of the follower a bit to get more play?
