I was looking at the Sig(refinished at the Sig factory) and it was a definitely a 229 in 9mm. The slide however did not look like a 229 slide...it looked more like 226 slide and the weapon was definitely not as heavy as the 229. It had night sites and a new barrel and was in excellent condition after the Sig treatment. It was going for $599.00 with one mag and also had the "short" trigger. It felt great in my hands. Good deal or no? Thanks all.

The 229 just had a change in that the serrations are large on the slide and dont stick out as much. They look like the 226 ones now but obviously the pistol is still the right size and whatnot.
P229 is fabulous. Great pistol, so is the p226. Its a win win either way. -
Thats an absolute steal. Buy it!
I saw a P229 DA/SA nitron in my FFL the other day. 490, hardly used, almost no wear and night sights, made in 2002. I put it down to call someone and came back in the room to buy/trade for it and someone else was filling out the paper work :/. That price you got OP is excellent.Comment

Yup for a p229 that was excellent. Its a win win, its worth more than that so even if down the road you want something different, its in great condition and worth alot. I'm looking at a 229 in DAK .357 sig next.Comment

I have yet to see any Sig in .357 or with the DAK here in Sacto
