I purchased a Glock G20 SF about a month ago. Now I'm driven to search for cheaper target ammo. When I picked up my new G20SF from Target Masters, I popped 50 rounds through the pistole that day. It cost me ~$0.83 per round that day. ~$38.50 + sales tax (8.25%) for 50 rounds of Remington UMC (1150 fps).
I purchased 10mm 180 gr FMJ (1050 fps) from WisconsinCartridge for target practice. In the order, I lumped some other calibers with the 10mm so it's was difficult to get the exact cost. I roughly calculated that it was ~ $0.51 a round. I paid the shipping cost as well as a "processing fee" but no taxes.
I realize that the WC 10mm is the low power stuff. Well, so was the Remington UMC. I have a few questions for those of you that reload 10mm using the spent WC cases. Are the WisconsinCartridge cases of good quality to perform repeated reloads? How much per round does it cost you to reload? Please include your time and your wages/hour into the calculation. How many rounds to do you reload before you see an honest cost savings?
