    Desert Eagle Rough Bore?

So I finally have my new toy home, a brand new brushed chrome Desert Eagle in .50AE. It's big, it's heavy, and it's even cooler in person. I have more practical/tactical pistols, but this one should be a lot of fun.

So I took it apart, and noticed that it has a polygon bore like I expected, but the bore surface seemed somewhat rough, and had some copper fouling from the factory test shot(s). Compared to the perfectly smooth, mirror shiny interior of my Glock barrels, I'm somewhat disappointed. Has anybody else looked (safely) down the barrel of one of these and know if this is normal or not?

So you just field stripped it for the first time, right? Have you cleaned the barrel yet, or are you describing the barrel as you got it?

Brush and clean the barrel really well, it'll get a damn near mirror finish in there. It's most likely just some fouling.

I cleaned it, and noticed that there was some pretty heavy copper fouling in the barrel, so I used some wipe out (same as I use for getting copper out of my rifle) and carefully brushed with a nylon brush.

Using a flashlight, the copper is gone, but the surface finish of the bore looks pretty rough, which would explain the fouling after just a few shots at the factory, if that.

What I'm especially wondering is if anybody has a desert eagle on here could take a look at the bore and tell me what they see?
