Kimber Eclipse Target II or SA MC Operator

Looking at picking up my first 1911 here in the next few days. I went to Turners and checked out the Eclipse Target II which looks absolutely beautiful and I really liked the front strap checkering on it.

I have also had a crush on a Springfield Armory MC operator. I can get the MC a little cheaper and used here on the forums, I haven't had the chance to hold one but I figure its about the same as the Kimber. The only difference being the half rail and no front checkering and no adjustable sights.

What say you, whats the better 1911 of the two? They are only going to be range guns, and home defense if ever necessary.

I'd like to spend about 1350 including dros and taxes if you have any other suggestions.

    Thanks.

The Operator is probably the more popular but the Eclipse sure is purrty!

I had The Kimber Eclipse Pro II, so a 4in bull barrell.

Still, off hand at 25feet all shots went into the same whole almost always.

So, if the 4in was this easy to shoot so accurately then the bigger 5in variant must be too.

            Forgotto add..

The Kimber Eclipse will get you more compliments since its alot nicer looking. But be carefull the finish can be pretty sensitive.
