Cheap mags won't be cheap, because you'll be scrapping them and getting better ones.
Don't go cheap on mags, get yourself some Wilson 47Ds / Chip McCormick Powermags/ Tripp Research mags.
Look here and on arfcom, you can usually find them for $25 each lightly used.sigpicComment

I agree Wilson 47D mags are top notch, but the mags I linked are the same as I carried (was issued, Go Navy!) when I was gunning up every day, and make great beater/range mags.What Is A Veteran?

I like Checkmate magazines. I got them from Top Gun Supply for pretty cheap and they work really well! I got the extended 8 rounders with slam pad.

Like others have written, don't get cheap 1911 mags. You'll end up with junk.
Wilsons, Tripp or McCormick are the way to go. Much cheaper in the long run.If you can't shoot good, at least look good shootingComment

If you want beater range mags on the cheap, then go for whatever. If you are buying mags to compete with or bet your life on then skimping should be out of the equation.
IMO, McCormick Powermags are excellent quality at a comfortable price and are the best compromise.

It depends on what the magazines are for. Like others have said, cheap magazines are ok for range use but reliable quality magazines are a must for SD. I use Wilson Combat magazines and am very happy with them.John Moses Browning 1855 - 1926
