That whole "safe handgun roster" is nothing more than "backdoor gun control" (via extortion). It's hard to even find an early DE, let alone for anything resembling a good price.
The .357 DE's are rumored to be more "ammo-sensitive", but I'm thinking (hoping) that since I reload that I should be able to work up a reliable load.Comment

If it has older mags you will prolly need to buy new ones. the follower was prone to feeding the ammo wrong. this is a mk1 so I am sure the magazines were not replaced. You also will need the right ammo.

That's the store! It's small and doesn't have a huge selection, the prices I observed looked to be better than most places.
It did occur to me that the prior owner may have had difficulty finding the right ammo for it. As a reloader, I'm pretty optimistic that I'll find a pet load for it that runs like a charm.
There's still a couple jugs of IMR-4227 (extruded stick) and the stick powders have always burned FAR cleaner than any of the ball powders. We'll just have to see. In the mean time I should have plenty of time to get a few boxes of test ammo ready for it.Comment
