    What model revolver?

My grandpas. Was wondering what model it is? Loved shooting it, as did my wife. I want to buy some.

The 357 mag. I know it's s&w but not sure if model. Gramps wont sell to me, it's his hunting sidearm still!

The 38spl was fun as heck too. Please tell me what model that is too (s&w)

    Thanks everybody!!

    Looks like a model 66 (.357) and a model 36 (.38)

The blued .38 snub with target sights is a Model 15, aka Combat Masterpiece. These two inchers are most usually seen with a square butt as seen in the photo.

The stainless .357 is a Model 66, no dash, judging by the pinned barrel and all stainless sights. Could be an early 66-1 but more likely a no dash.

Model numbers are inside the frame under the yoke... which is the thing that the cylinder rides on. When you open the cylinder the model and serial number should be stamped on the frame where the yoke would cover them.

I thought the 67 was the .357 but I do think the other is the 36.

67 was the stainless version of the Model 15 Combat Masterpiece. No underlug on the barrel and the classic tapered barrel seen on the 15. The 66 came with the standard underlug, just like the Model 19 it sprang from.

The cylinder of the snub shown appears to be a six shot, and the heavier, untapered, barrel with no underlug is mirror to many snub Model 15's I've seen over the years. The pain with them (like snubbed Model 10's and 12's) is that the ejector rod isn't long enough to fully clear the cases. Have to get to a 2.5 inch barrel for that.

Thanks! I guess it has been too long since my last revolver. I need another one I guess.

That's a very early model 66 no dash. Note the stainless rear sight. Those didn't last long. Those stocks are absolutely stunning!
