    Just need to vent...

    So I've been trying to get a SP-01 Tactical for the last year.

    Tried to get in on the Valkyrie Group Buy and that fell through.

    Saw a few come up here and there on the marketplace, but they're all in NorCal (DAMN YOU!)

    Finally started poking around on GunBroker and see one for sale. No ship to CA, no problem. Arrange it to go through Table Rock and everything is all good. I buy it, send payment, and wait.

    And wait... instructions on the seller's site are explicitly clear that they don't enjoy answering e-mails or phone calls...

    Wait some more... finally decide to e-mail them what's up?

    Response - my purchase got flagged as a CA purchase (even though it's set to ship to Oregon) and they had re-listed the gun and sold it already. So now I'm SOL.

    ARGH. I patiently wait until the day the roster DIES!!!!

      It was suggested on a Bud's rant thread to have the out of state FFL purchase the fun first. That way it is not a California purchase initially. Then the out of state FFL can do the appropriate SSE work.

                      I meant I gave them the FFL in Oregon. The auction details specified they don't ship to CA. Fine, ship it to my FFL in Oregon.

                      Yeah, I got my money back. I guess they're system flagged the billing address. Or more accurately, my account's address on Gunbroker... so if you list your CA address on GB, you might be automatically screened out of auctions. how lame is that?

                      I agree, it'd be nice to coordinate the FFL to buy it on my behalf, but it's hard to do that at midnight when I'm browsing the auctions and see what I want to buy. I'm guessing most FFLs probably don't want to lay their own cash out like that; I'd probably have to get them the money first. And then there's the whole 3% cash discount thing too...

                              What really kills me is that the seller's system accepted payment, and then they re-listed the gun and didn't tell me I wasn't going to get anything. Kind of screwed up, but can you really blame them for not accounting for the SSE and shipping to a 3rd party? I guess not.

                              Yeah, there are a lot of Tacticals chambered in .40 on GB, but I want a 9mm. I've got a lead on a couple more sources, so maybe I'm in luck...

                                          Word on the street is that there's a large shipment coming in January.

                                          Other people seem to have a bead on some coming in the next two weeks (too lazy to find the smiley, but a REAL two weeks!)

                                                      That's (part of) the reason I just went with the regular old SP-01, that I picked up yesterday

                                                      Now I gotta' get to the range and try it out.
                                                      Too many hobbies, Too little time.

                                                      Mind you, I'm 5'7", 180, with a visible Ab...
