Can I sell a handgun to a Nevada resident?

A fella at work is interested in buying my Makarov but is a Nevada resident, I'm a CA resident. Can I sell it to him directly or does it have to go through an 01 FFL?

Need to go through a Nevada licensed FFL.
Taiwan born, Chinese descent, red white and freaking blue America citizen.

Gun Control - A theory espoused by some monumentally stupid people; who claim to believe, against all logic and common sense, that a violent predator who ignores the laws prohibiting them from robbing, raping, kidnapping, torturing and killing their fellow human beings will obey a law telling them that they cannot own a gun.

Absolutely require an FFL in CA - practice in NV does not apply here.

But, you can't even sell it to him in CA.

Practically, CA law requires proof of residency in CA for handgun sales.

Legally, Federal law requires handgun sales to go through an FFL in the state of residence of the buyer.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

Thanks for the quick clarification, I'll route it through an 01 FFL in Carson City.

Why would you want to sell your Makarov? A Makarov with quality 9X18 ammo is a very reliable and accurate CCW handgun.

            Possible routes:

            1. Nevada resident gets CA DL/ID?

            2. Send it to an FFL in Nevada and your co worker can do the transaction through them.

              1) No; Fed law says it's a felony to sell a handgun to resident of different state outside that state.

              2) That's the answer.

It's even a sticky in this forum - http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=503873; since this is a CA forum, that thread is focused on CA residents, but it's true for any unlicensed person - must use an FFL in your home state for handguns.

What Librarian said is true so I'd stick with what he says and just go through an FFL and tell your buddy to get an ffl to help him out in NV.

A CCW for me has two chances of happening, slim and next to none. Local Law doesn't believe civilians should have them.....unless you have connections.
Why would I sell my Makarov? I guess because it's mine and I can sell it if I choose to and it's tough to turn down a $350 offer for it!

I can hand deliver to the FFL as I go to Carson City at least twicw a week. I just needed confirmation for doing things the correct way. Thanks to all for the replies!
