    XD9t making CA compliant

Will soon be moving to CA

Have a XD9 Tactical I need to make compliant, other than a 10 round magazine what do I need to do?

can I just disassemble and store the regular ones and be okay?

    any help would be appreciated

You dont have to do anything. You just register it and it is good.http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/in..._be_registered

You need to give all your guns and ammo to the gun inspector for review, and that would be me

      Welcome to Calguns, and CA.
Less work/easier to sell the magazine, and buy 10-rounds.

Yes, disassembled would be fine, as they would be re-build/parts.

Oh, buy more guns, they are cheaper out there...

Besides registering it with CA DOJ, nothing else needs to be done.
Yes, you can dissassemble the magazines into parts and keep them as parts as long as you never assemble them into large capacity magazines while in CA.

          Thanks everyone

would rather take apart than sell...LOL
and I know I can "fix" the 10 round ones if I ever move out of CA

Guns are even cheaper in PA where I moved from to NV
I think NV is really expensive

Per CA laws, if you use your magazine parts to make 10 round magazines, they need to be permanent 10 round magazines. [PC 12020(c)(25)(A)]

            IMO...
Dissassemble your large capacity magazines into parts and keep them as parts while in CA. Assemble them into magazines for use when outside of CA.
Acquire factory 10 round magazines for use in CA.

            Penal Code 12020
(c)(25) As used in this section, "large-capacity magazine" means any ammunition feeding device with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds, but shall not be construed to include any of the following:
            (A) A feeding device that has been permanently altered so that it cannot accommodate more than 10 rounds.
            (B) A .22 caliber tube ammunition feeding device.
            (C) A tubular magazine that is contained in a lever-action firearm.

And this is why I have such a hard time thinking we could possibly end up in CA again in the future, I think whatever someone acquires while living in another state (especially when in the military) should be grandfathered in as long as the person can prove they purchased while a resident in a different state.
