Probably like other RIA guns it would be a good starter 1911. However I dont think it's on roster(I would be happy to be wrong about this, so if I am someone correct me) so you'll need to find a used one, single shot it, or become a police officer.

The Christmas season is upon us...The perfect time of year for out of state family to send an off roster handgun as the gift that keeps on giving.

            Yeah...it's not. (II)

As another Calguns member told you a while back:

It's not the same model as the on-list guns. If an FFL sold you that gun without doing a SSE then they shouldn't be surprised if the DOJ stops by for a chat.
Cool that you got one "by mistake" but stop telling people its on the roster...

I've handled one, it appeared well built to me, I'm just not happy that they stone their trigger tracks so wide and they don't use a common dovetail cut for sights
Good saddles ain't cheap...and cheap saddles ain't good

Buy a Wilson combat or a Dan Wesson. Way cheaper in the long run.

To the OP: I've had mine for a few weeks now and it's a very solidly built gun. I've swapped mine over to a GI guide rod and a single sided safety, but that's just personal preference. I would certainly recommend buying one. They're one of the best deals going right now. And, once again, they're not on the list. I mentioned that to the previous poster, but he didn't seem to have read my post in that thread.

I fail to see how that makes any sense, whatsoever. Could you please explain further?

Even if we were talking the CQB, one of their cheaper models, I could buy 5,000 rds of .45 ACP and still not spend as much.
