    quick dros ?

Im going to fill out the dros on a pistol today.

I just recently moved(less than month ago) so the address on my ID and registration is not up to date.

My question is this: does the DOJ look at you adDress and cross refrence anything or do they just run a simple backround check and make you wait ten days?

I dont have a printer so printing a utility bill might not be an option unless they just want to see it and let me use a computer there.

It might be easier to slip my mind and forgot i moved, ops .

It has been my experience that EVERYTHING has to be in order before they allow you to DROS anything.

Dont quote me, but arent you signing on the DROS paper work that everything is true and accurate.

I dont have any of my old DROS forms anymore, since they hold no weight in TX on proving ownership.

Specifially, that it is "True and Correct". But yeah, same thing.

I have filed out the form before, that really wasnt my question.

Does the DOJ verify your address? cross refrence DMV? anything ?...

On a similar note, if you're, say, a young man who lives at home and have all your vehicles registered there, bills there, etc., but also live with your girlfriend, is it all right to use your parents address still?

Some places are fast and others are screwy. I went to one place, and my DROS was under 10 minutes. Another place took 1-1/2 hours, then I had to go back because they made a mistake.

Doesn't matter what the DOJ cares about, most shops won't hesitate to turn you away if you come in with less than ideal paperwork. Don't expect to be able to purchase any gun until you have everything in order.

part of it relies on the shop to make sure some things are in order before they even start the dros.
it then checks you against a variety of databases. if you're clean or extremely "dirty", I believe the check comes back fairly quickly.
