It's fine, for the last year I've only been using wheel bearing grease for lube and WD40 for cleaning

It's my own personal little hang up to not use solvent on Polymer. I just use rubbing alcohol for cleaning the frame and down into the fire control parts. Hoppe's on the slide/metal stuff on top.
I'm sure people use solvent all the time on polymer without problems I just never wanted to take the chance."I declare to you that woman must not depend upon the protection of man, but must be taught to protect herself, and there I take my stand." --Susan B. Anthony

I use hoppes on my polymer Glocks......"Then there are sheepdogs. The sheepdogs are the bastions of safety. The sheepdog lives solely to protect the flock and confront the wolf. They live for the opportunity to be called to duty to protect the innocent. The sheepdog has fangs and the propensity for violence but hopes that he will not have to resort to it. However, he lives for that day when he will be able to use his warrior skills and mindset to keep the wolf from harming the sheep."Comment

No problem so far. See me in ten years or so.
The thing to watch for is aerosol no rez cleaners. Some have an ingredient that attacks plastic from shotgun wads. No bueno for polymer."He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.
You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."

Geez, its Not acid, how do you clean out the internal metal parts with just rubbing alcohol? It's my own personal little hang up to not use solvent on Polymer. I just use rubbing alcohol for cleaning the frame and down into the fire control parts. Hoppe's on the slide/metal stuff on top.

Give it a try and see and see for yourself. I get nice dirty patches/qtips/pipe cleaners, and I keep cleaning until they are clear.. Isn't that pretty much what you do with Hoppes?
Also you might want to look at some videos on Glock cleaning... There are several that do the same thing, I just started my practice prior to youtube being on the web (and probably prior to your birth).

Works fine. Personally I dont make a habbit of soaking it in it, just a wipe with a rag that has some on it does the trick.
