Thanks fellas I gotta admit I was really amazed how accurate that thing is. Compared to my Ruger p95 doesn't even come close. I was even doing one handed and was getting a nice group.

Damn jonc is that fire ball in your avatar a mosin nagant?

          Nice P1.

Just a little info from what I can tell from your pictures.
The gun appears to be a former military issue indicated by the drooping wing eagle with inspector number, which is a military acceptence mark.
The serial 013777 dates the alloy frame to early '60s ( 001001-299707 = 5/57-7/66 ). Frame also lacks the hex pin above the trigger area that was introduced in 1975 to strengthen the frame.
The slide is dated 9/81 with a four point star, a design chage mark usually used by military/police. Though not really clear, I also see a dropping wing acceptance mark on the right side of the slide.

For more info on these great guns, visit P-38 Forum or
          Walther Forum

I have an early '60s West Berlin Police Manurhin P1 and a mid '70s Walther P38k.

          Enjoy, they are great guns!

Nice! I too, have a P-1, and yes, it's surprisingly accurate. I'm not too thrilled about the hard plastic grips, but they're serviceable. Would like a hogue grip if they made one for them - it would be a terrific shooter. Mine was made in February of 1980 according to the slide.

Man love that P-1 it is nice and shiny. Mine is all flat black but I think it will do just good. I am going to order wooden grips to give it the old school feel and look.

Hmmm Hogue might be cool but I think it would look awful on the pistol lol.

Man that is a nice looking P4. Hows it accuracy though? With such a short barrel...logic would think it would be only good to a certain amount of yards. Nice looking though

and X-mas is just right around the Corner! Stopped by Turners to pick up some ammo and they had one on sale for 350ish in good looking shaped. All matching serial numbers too! should take a look at it.

                        Thanks.

As for accuracy, It's NIB unfired, so I don't know. Bought it as a collector.
