    Sig 229 magazines

    Hi,
has anyone have any experience with the magazines made by Promag for
the Sig229 in .40 S&W? Are they reliable?
I'm looking for magazines for a pistol I recently bought and the only ones available are the Sig magazines and the Promag magazines. Thanks.

stick with the sig mags, promags suck butt.

Guns for sale. Gun Parts for Sig Sauer, Heckler & Koch, AR-15, Glock, 1911 parts. Your top gun supply superstore!

another option would be mec-gar if they had some for the the 40

Mec Gar does make Sig's mags. Some of them come marked Sig Sauer, others come marked Mec Gar. You're fine either way. Stay away from Pro Mag.

Pro Mag might as well be "no mag."

yes mec-gar does does make the mag for sigs, but if you can find the mec-gar labeled mags you don't pay the sig prices . i haven't seen the 40 mags and did not see them on the mec gar webpage. all i saw on there web page was the mec gar 226/8 9mm mags.

I bought a Pro-Mag magazine for my P225 and it was OK, and I still use it.
It did have one problem, however, which I easily corrected.

The mag follower was a bit too high and caused the slide to lock back, prior to the mag's last round being chambered & expended. I filed the polymer follower, just a bit, and the mag worked fine after that.
