To my knowledge, Colt did not make smooth grips like that. However I believe those are modified Colt grips, not aftermarket. I would guess that someone sanded off the checkering on a set of factory Target grips and then refinished them. Also a snubbie Python would have come with Service style grips, not Targets.

I believe that smooth grips were available back in the day from Colt as an option, just like they were with S&W. A call to Hartford would answer that question for certain.

From the photo, I'm guessing those are not factory as the fit at the bottom of the back strap is way bad and the medallion looks like it's seated too high.

Those look like poorly modified targets, originally would have had checkering.

No colt did not make this style stocks (Colt calls them stocks not grips), plus as pointed out the fit is very poor, no gun maker would put something out like that. They look like target stocks that someone sanded down but the fit makes me think they are poorly crafted "home made".

Mediallons are wrong too, they are not original Colt.

Lastly as also pointed out snubbies did not come with target stocks, only service stocks.

Check on Gunbroker and you will find the correct stocks (although search for grips, not stocks as only Colt calls them stocks????)

It looks like a nice Python snubbie but stocks/grips need to go in the trash!!
