my dreams of getting the 6" beretta neos have been dashed.

just got off the phone with my favorite FFL.

i've been eyeballing the u22 on bud's for a couple of weeks now. since they fell off roster, i now cannot order one, for there is no SSE available for it.

    i need a hug.

Sorry to hear that. Have you shot one? There are many better .22 pistols out there.

Look at Ruger MK II or 22/45. Great pistols.

Sammy- i haven't but for the price, i figured i could take the chance. I have shot the ruger. Very nice, solid gun. When i try to get my friends involved in shooting, i want to start them out on something like a neos. Neat looking little .22. Then, move them up to a 9mm. It's also way cheaper to shoot .22 as you already know.

I had one for years and sold it not too long ago...

It was a good pistol, accurate, but I would have liked to put a better trigger into it. I sold it due to the ergo, just didnt fit my hand well. What attracted me to it in the first place was the huge rail on top.

If you like it, and still want one, keep an eye on the used market.

Extreme x- i do want one. However, i'm noticing a trend in the want ads, which makes sense. That is, you'll pay way more than you should for a gun that's only rare in CA. These laws are depressing.

Where are you located? A local shop here has a new one on sale for $275.

Not sure what you mean by no SSE available for it? Normally you just buy an extra barrel, weld on the extension and block the magwell.

If it's no longer on the California Roster and you are not exempt then no, you can not buy it.

I think SSE for these are a little tricky.

The whole barrel is kind of like a pistol "upper". It detaches when undoing the screw if you can see in the pic (just above the trigger). The market for it would have to be large enough to have a bunch of guys doing it.

EDIT: After thinking about it, it would be pretty doable for SSE. Market rules still apply though.

How about buying a carbine kit for the longer barrel for SSE?

Yeah, the only problem would be the OAL and the magazine block. Believe it or not, the OAL of the gun is 10.2in, if i remember correctly. It's ridiculously close to meeting one of the criteria.

Market rules? Meaning paying twice the amount it's valued at?

But once you turn it into a carbine, doesn't it have to stay that way forever?
