i dont think this one has been asked, for those of us who routinely work out of town and stay in hotels is it lawful to transport a firearm from ones house to the hotel and once the jobs over back home?

Just transport your guns and ammo separate in your car, according to the law and you'll have no problems. A hotel, motel or even a campsite is a legal temporary residence and you can maintain loaded firearms there for your personal protection. Just don't wave them around outside in the parking lot. Keep your guns in a locked container when outside.
