    New 629

    Just puchased a S&W 629 6.5'' barrel. Know for the dredful 10 wait. Im thinking of putting a scope on this. Any ideas?

      Don't mess it up with a scope. I just bought a 629 5" classic and it's a perfectly balanced gun, shoots well. Why would you want to put a scope on it anyway? I can hit the 18" Gong @ 100 yards with mine.

          Leupold makes a nice handgun scope in 2.5 x 8, extended eye releif. It will hold it's zero, from the recoil of the 44 mag.

          The down side is, it does add weight, to an alreadly heavy handgun. It gets a little tiring, shooting off-hand, after a while.

            Why ruin the looks and balance of a fine revolver with a scope? If a target
            is at the range where a scope is needed, you should be using a rifle!
