I'm about to order a set of new rubber grips for my model 66-1 square boot revolver. I love the pachymar feel and look, I wasn't sure if it actually covers the backstrap though. Do any pachymar models cover the steel backstrap?

Sorry my phone loves to "auto-correct" and makes my life a living hell on this site sometimes, its ok budd lol. I know how to spell them, it does this alot.
I'm preferring one with the most subtle finger grooves, looks like the gripper and decelerator are the ticket.Comment

Gripper and Decelerator both cover the backstrap. The Gripper Professional does not cover the backstrap.
FWIW, I've been using Gripper Professional on K frame S&W's since the mid 1980's. Even though they are marketed / intended for smaller hands, they are, for me, the optimal grip on that frame size even with my rather large hands. YMMV, but that's my experience. I use a Decelerator model on my Redhawk .44 Magnum and they help with heavy loads.Last edited by BigDogatPlay; 11-25-2011, 10:21 PM.

I love my new k frame. I shot a short barrel k frame years ago with a pachmayr grip and loved it. It was the perfect size. Although I don't like finger grooves I think they are subtle enough on the gripper to be what I want. The old set I shot didn't have finger grooves though.Comment
