    Best 1911 lube?

I've got some CLP Breakfree. Gonna be lubing up the Les Baer 1911 TRS, just wondering if there's any specific lube that works better on 1911 guns versus polymer guns like Sig/Glock/FN/S&W M&P guns. My friends run MPro 7 on their 1911s, any difference between the two?

To each his own, everyone I know likes something different.. Personally I use Wilson Light grease on the frame rails and gun butter oil on the other stuff...

Not really. Some lubes burn off/run off faster than others but thats it. Stick with a well known manufacturer and keep your 1911 lubed and it'll be fine. I've used remington, hoppes and kleen bore in the past and now I use tetra. All have worked well, the tetra seems to stick a little longer.

FWIW, I use MPro7 and tetra for my polymer and steel guns which S&W M&P, Glocks, Walther, and 1911's. I also use them for my shotguns and rifles (bolt and semi auto). All of my guns run great.

I am a fan of Mpro7. Expensive but good! I've also used snake oil , Wilson, Rem oil and recently just run synthetic motor oil. I use Breakfree on my garage door only.

Les uses, ships, and recomends break free for his guns. Its what I use on my Custom Carry.

Are you better off than you were four years ago?

I've been using Breakfree for thirty years on all my guns. No problems. I also use a little grease on the rails of my autos.

For slide rails and any other parts where metal rubs metal, I have plain moly grease. Bought 1 pound for 3 bucks, and it'll last me at least 10 years.

I like Breakfree in a bottle with a needle oiler.

Here's a great diagram for where to lube your 1911 from www.bullseyepistol.com

who cares...use moly, gear lube, yak fat, hoppes or mobil 1...the important thing is that you use it

FWIW, I use Hoppes and RIG only because I bought a ton of it, when I run out I'll be switching to a motor oil mix
