    I have one.

The front strap checkering is VERY sharp from the factory, if I am going to shoot over a few hundread rounds I would wear glove (I usually do anyway)

They are pretty heavy vs. my custom classic...

Accuracy is great, sights are good and easy to adjust.

No problems after break-in (~500 rounds)

IMO a very nice and well made 1911, not as fast as my classic but a great pistol.

The finish holds up very well.. I have a small scratch on mine and it didn't go down to the bare SS.. It seems very hard and rather thick.. Have holstered it many a time and you really have to look for the wear. (On the very front of the muzzle)

I have the very first model in 2000. (Called Custom Eclipse II back then, came with ambi-safty and still said custom shop with Kimber logo in between). Black stainless finish is holding up okay. However, both front and rear tritium sight fail within first year. After sending it back for replacement, it's working okay. Fire about 3k round or so, accuracy is great, and seems to have one heck of a trigger that I can't find on the production model.
