Kahr owners?

Any Kahr owners out there? Specifically the P9 (9mm) model, Your thoughts on Kahrs will be appreciated.. Whatda ya think?

I have a P9 and love it. I've had two others (P9s) in the past but always sold them for something else. I've never had any issues with any of them, regardless of the ammo type used (even when the gun is dirty). I've heard that the .45 has some reliability issues, but have no first hand experience with one in that caliber. This last P9 is a keeper!

I've got a P9 and I like it overall. I did a 'covert' job on it--cut the grip down to take PM9 mags.

Things to think about
-long (but nice) trigger pull
-lonnng reset (like a revolver)
-the grip would be good for someone with smallish hands I think. My hands are narrow and I have long fingers and I've had to put some thought into a solid hold with a good finger position on the trigger. Ended up padding out the backstrap area to make this easier.

I like my Baby Glock better by far, and I can conceal it nearly as well despite the added thickness. My Kahr is on probation until I have another look at whether I can figure out a way to pocket carry it in dress pants--I do sometimes carry it in a cargo pocket.

I have a P40 and have had alot of trouble with it. It wont eject any live round out of the chamber without getting stuck sideways other then a snap cap, Win Rangers FMJ and thank got the HD rounds i use, Hornaday Critical Defense. Im gonna be sending it back soon. I have also broke 1 mag as welll, split down the back... I would not buy a P40 or a P45. Buddy had a P45 and it crapped the ejector assy out the bottom of the gun 40 rounds into break in. I would however buy a P9. Have heard nothing but good things about them.

I've had a P9 for about 6 years. Never any issues. Not my favorite gun to shoot, but does the job and was my concealed firearm when I was in NV.

If I don't sell it before we move, it will be my CCW again.

I have been carry my P9 for a year now and love it, next spring I was going to buy a PM9 for the summer months.
P9 is a great choice

Had a PM9 and P380, absolutely loved them, quality is top notch, traded because deals were too good to pass up, just bought another PM9 and will be buying my son one soon.

Had two, one worked so-so (PM9), the other didn't work at all (P45). Kahr treated me very well with the PM9 and got her running like a top but treated me like dog $%#$ with the P45. P45 ended up having an incorrect spring installed from the factory (took 3 trips back to Kahr for them to figure it out. Kahr blamed me left and right for the problems including taking the gun apart (read field stripping) which they say caused the problems. Now I own zero Kahrs although I really did like my PM9 after the issues got ironed out. Loved the trigger, concealability and accuracy for such a small gun. I actually had a blast shooting the PM9 at long ranges at the range. I doubt I'll ever own a Kahr again because of the way they treated me with the P45. It was that bad. Funny thing was if they'd have just apologized and owned their mistake I would have loved them. I vote with my money.

Kahrs need 700-750 rounds of break in. Both my Kahrs were perfect for the first 3-400 rounds and started having issues after that.

Kahr experience

When I bought a Kahr several years ago I considered the various models in polymer or steel frame, and I got the MK9, the smallest steel frame model. I had read better things about the reliability of the steel frame versus the polymer, and liked the very small size and concealability of the smaller Kahrs.

I've been pleased with the performance of the MK9, and have about 1000 rounds through it with no problems.

I have a PM40 which I do not recommend because it's just a recoil beast but I would conditionally recommend a PM9 was a carry-often/shoot-seldom. The PM series is nicely finished, accurate for a micro pistol, light, and very concealable. Minuses are the long break-in, short 5 year warranty and customer service with a healthy dose of NJ attitude. It took at trip to the factory to get mine feeding reliably. If you want a shoot-often I'd look for a far more durable MK9.

I have a K40 and a PM9.

They are both nice guns,the K40 a bit heavy.Pretty snappy recoil.

The PM9 had to go back to Kahr ( FTF and FTE problem).

They returned it in 2 weeks(they paid for shipping)it worked great.

I installed a Wolfe #20 recoil spring (12.00 for the spring kit)now it is

AWESOME!!!

I carry that with a Crimson Trace Laserguard or my Glock19

Hey Jim,
You know I am a die hard Sig guy and we recently changed my wife's off-duty gun from a P239 to a CW9. After shooting that, I'm going to change my own P239 to a PM9. The only thing for me is it takes some time to get used to the DAO trigger....practice makes perfect!!!

The Kahr guns do take some break in time...usually a little more than most guns. The P9 is very similar to the CW9 and the CW9 costs less.
