    Glock:
+Harder to conceal in close fitting clothes. Blocky/Thick
    +Easier to shoot well.
    +More aftermarket options.
    +Easier to take down.
    ~Safe Action Trigger

    LC9:
    +Easier to conceal. Slim profile.
    +Lighter
+A bit tougher to shoot well. "Revolver-like" trigger and high bore axis.
    +Very little aftermarket
+Requires a "poker" to take down.
    ~Traditional thumb safety.

For me, one of the major considerations was conceal-ability and the glock just wouldn't work for me. I went with the LC9 and I'm very happy. It weighs less, but has just enough weight to keep it pleasant to shoot. The trigger is different, but it just takes practice to get good with it. I also found that i can't shoot it well without the finger extension floor plate. Having it on actually helps camouflage its print.

I also like having the thumb safety. Other's don't like having a safety like that on a carry gun, but coming from 1911s I'm used to sweeping it off when I go to shoot.

      Thanks for the pic Bill.

Shellshocker--The info about the Gen 3 G26 spring assembly shows up regularly in comparisons of Gen 3 vs. Gen 4 G26, i.e. reviews, threads, etc.

Yes it would be best for the OP to compare by shooting. Unfortunately in some areas the rental options are very limited.

See you learn something new everyday! I have looked at the Gen 3 G26 several times, never bothered to tear it down as I figured it was just like the other gen 3's with the single spring.

So now I have a ton of questions, like if they already had the double recoil spring how come so many of 9mm gen 4's had spring problems? Did they change the design of the g3 to g4 double spring? .... I gotta go do some research now! Thanks for the info!

Again thanks everyone for all of your help and thank you very much for the comparison pics! I wish I was able to shoot both to help with the decision, I'm sure that would be the ultimate test for me.

I know I'm "a girl" but I'm not really "a girly girl". I shoot at least a couple of times a month and know my way around firearms - I don't think a compact 9mm will be too much for me to handle either way. My husband thinks I should get a compact 45 haha

It looks like you guys are mostly agreeing with what I'm thinking... the LC9 is slightly more concealable but that seems to be the only primary advantage. The Glock seems better made, holds more ammo, better trigger. I just wish I could shoot both before I buy!!

You could also look at the Glock 27, .40S&W and hold close to the same as the 26.

I just bought and sold an SR9 due to various reasons. First, let me preface it saying that I bought the lc9 after selling my XD9 because it was too thick for CCW for my desires. I believe the glock is even thicker yet than the XD. I liked the SR9 for the features, I liked the manual safety, I even liked the loaded chamber indicator, but what I couldn't handle was the trigger on the damn thing. I tried and tried to like it, but couldn't group for garbage at the range even at 7 yards. 21 feet and I was ALL over the paper. I LOVED my XD in comparison because at 25 yards I could hit a 6" shoot-n-see all day long and cover it up with that. I was deadly accurate with the XD9 subcompact but went from that to barely center of mass. I'm now going to try getting the SR9C as it takes the regular mags as well for a full sized grip, but short for CCW. Also if you go out of state you can get and use 17 round capacity mags. I like the grip on the SR9C just as well as the LC9 (which was really good and super thin IMO) and there are many features that I like that others don't. I usually carry with a safety on as I'm used to carrying a 1911 chambered so I LIKE the manual safety that many don't.

So, against the grain I'll say give the SR9C a chance and take a look at it. Thinner, has the capacity, great reviews, robust build, and a great warranty.

Not much of a question. Glock uber alles.

I was shooting a Glock when shooting a Glock wasn't cool.

As a G26 owner, I say go with the Glock, better trigger, and more reliable.

However, the LC9 seems like it would be easier to conceal and is much lighter to carry. I'm going to apply for a CCW and am looking for something I can carry while running.

I would really appreciate some feedback on the two as I am looking to purchase within the next few days.

                    Thanks a lot!
I'd go G26 but even then.....snubbie 642. You cant go wrong and it carries well. Plus if it dont go bang....pull the trigger again .

Yea I've heard good things about the trigger on the SR9C...they almost made it sound like it was improved over the standard size model, and it looks like it carries well too.

Yea, I would take a G26 or 3913 if I could find one for a good price. But plenty of off duty LEO's and regular joes still use it. Its a fantastic revolver, dont let the 5 rounds fool you OP.

Pick up a Sig P239. It's concealable and great accuracy. Not a fan of the LC9 and the G26 is a little thick. Plus I just don't get that safety is on the trigger thing from Glock.

I voted for the G26 due to it's track record of reliability, magazine capacity, and cost and availability of magazines (price the LC9 mags ).

That said, everything you cited in your post is 100% on.
The LC9 is a single stack, so it is thinner and lighter than the Glock and easier to conceal.
The LC9 is also DAO... I do not like that in a defensive gun. I far prefer SA or striker fired.

Reliability? The LC9 has only been around for a year or so. I haven't heard any issues with reliability, but I have heard a lot of reports of it not being a comfortable gun to fire.
However, these reports are from men with larger hands, and the reports are that the gun tends to jump, causing them to need to re-grip between shots.

That might be a good thing if you have smaller hands and find the Glock to be too large.

My advice? Rent them and put a few hundred rounds through each downrange.

I just moved to Cali...but I carried a Glock 27 in Utah for 3-4 years. Every summer I was ready to go out and buy something smaller/lighter. With winter clothes the Glock is rather easy to conceal, but with just shorts and a tee-shirt it gets a little harder.

If you have any intention on running with something, I'd go with an LCP in a pocket holster.
