interarms Mauser Luger?

They started out in 1970's and made 2 basic configurations. The "swiss" style with the front grip strap straight and the "P08" style like the later Lugers with a bulb base grip. The serial number will tell you the caliber, 10-,11- means 7.65 or 9mm. The value depends on when model and configuration plus if it is NIB. Used goes for $6-700 and NIB goes for $1k-1300. Anything more specific needs Ser# and pics.

It is not known exactly when you gun was produced. July 1973 10.011959 was logged and the next logged number is in jun 1977 at 15223. Most of the guns were produced in 1973. You can check the target in the box and some have dates. A six inch "P08" style in 9mm is a nice gun. If it has been used I would estimate it to sell for $9-1K.

I dont think it was ever used outside of the factory. The is a little imperfection on the bottom of the barrel maybe form the tools rubbing on it the box. Otherwise looks VERY complete and unfired.
I am gona go for it .

The pilot group was made in 1970 and was of the 29/70, swiss, style. In 1973 they started the 06/73 style and stopped doing general production in 1977 but did continue to make a small amounts of major body parts till 1986. Interarms bought most of the mausers and had sales over seas and in the US. There were about 14000 9mm pistols made during 1973-1985.

How do you replace springs? How do the "last" Lugers compare to other Lugers? Pre WW2, WW2? By compare , I mean as a pistol. ( not as a collectors item, I know others are more desirable)Comment

Everything except the takedown latch spring was easy to replace. The mainspring requires a tool to remove and install. Quality is as good as any commercial gun from the pre war era. Mine is very accurate. The Swiss pattern pistols were made on machinery purchased from the Swiss government so you know the dimensions are correct.Comment

This is mine - Swiss 1929 pattern with the simplified straight grip and grip safety. The P08 version is sans grip safety and has a kink in the grip angle at the bottom. Both versions made by Mauserwerke and marketed in the U.S. by Interarms. Springs can be obtained from Wolff and the surplus houses like Numrich and Sarco. Installing the take down lock spring was a real struggle that ended up involving a padded vise, a small C clamp, a nylon gunsmith hammer and lots of bad language. The smallest spring I had to replace and the most difficult because the repro spring was not made quite right.Comment

A bit of a threadbump, but I'm curious. I'm looking to get one of these and I'm wondering if they're legal to import into CA. I'm reading that these are 1970s era guns? If so, they're not in the C&R list as far as I know and probably wouldn't be on the safe handgun list, right? If so, am I screwed from buying the piece since it's going to be an interstate transfer?Comment
