    S&W 36

A relative has a SW 36, NIB, 5 shot .38 snub nose, they want to sell me. What would be a fair price? I can't find any NIB for sale, to compare prices

If an older (no lock) model, figure about $375.00 as an average if they're in very good shape - at about $375.00 you figure the seller got a good price, the buyer got a good deal.

You can go to the for sale forum at www.smith-wessonforum.com and search on the model 36 (you have to be a member to do this, but it's an excellent forum). Whatever they go for in Free America, add 20% to get the California price.

Also, look on www.gunbroker.com and other online sales sites.

I'd pay $350 for a NIB model 36, especially an older one. They're great guns, and one of the classics, and not so easy to find NIB in California.

I've seen them up higher, like around $500 for new-in-box Model 36s around here...A used one would go for $350. Around HERE they are really popular.
