    Super Redhawk Grip Panel Locator

Anyone here ever remove a Ruger Super Redhawk Grip Panel Locator?

    Ruger P/N: T03301-DA

I found this video, but the locator on this gun, just doesn't want to move by hand like it does in the video.

I'm putting a monogrip on this gun as a favor, and don't want to wail on it.

    TOTP

Anyone? Is this press out, or should it move freely?

Without watching the video, are we talking about the 5/16" aluminum pin found in the Lett grips? This should pop out with light finger pressure. I've worked on close to a hundred of these and all were fairly loose. It's only there to locate the grip.

That is the part. This gun's seems pressed in.

Not familiar with Lett grips though.

I had one GP100 that the locator just pushed right out. Then another that wouldn't budge if Rosie O'Donnell sat on it. I had to take that one to my smith with a hydraulic press. That was even after I whacked on the thing with a hammer. No damage was done, just needed more force.
