    Quality speedloaders

I have 2 .38 snubbies, a Charter Arms and a Smith and Wesson model 38. Both are 5 shot. I have an HKS and a Safariland speedloader, and both are plastic POS. They each function differently, and if I had one in a pocket, each would dump the ammo. I would like to know if there are metal, positive locking speedloaders available.

every consider speed strips? i like the speed strips, take longer to load but you can carry more w/out bulking

that or get custom work done for moon clips...you don't have many options

I haven't tried these, but they look like what you are looking for.
5 Star Firearms designs and manufactures the DC Series push-button revolver speed loaders, supported by a full line of precision aluminum speed loaders and shooting accessories.

SW forums has good reviews on this product.
CNC aluminum speedloaders with a HKS type release.

I use the HKS and never had them let the rounds loose in my pocket or pouch, but then Grant Cunningham swears by the safariland ones and claims he's never had them let loose involuntarily.

But I have.....with the safariland comps, that is.
I don't trust them for SD.

And look into the Corbin DPX for rounds that speedload fast. Copper truncated that will really feed fast, and have good expansion.

HKS are excellent. The safariland I'm sure are very decent and maybe a little faster but for CCW, the HKS are rock solid and just as reliable if not more so.

They do turn clockwise, the opposite direction than HKS, but if you ask them they will change it for you.

Huh? My HKS loaders release by turning clockwise?

            Nice collection, by the way!

Thank you. I just ordered (2) 5 Star speedloaders @ $20 ea. It looks like they will work on the Charter Arms also. The cylinder swingout on the Charter Arms isn't far enough for the round plastic speedloaders to line up.

Personally I've never had a problem with the Safariland speedloaders. However, I like the SL-variant much better: http://bobmacs.com/variantcatalog.htm.

They are pricey and the 5 shot J, 6 shot K and 7 shot L sizes are on backorder a lot.
