Alas, "made in the USA" does not guarantee quality.

I have had the Para Warthog for about 7-8 years, I love this gun. It was until recently my go to carry gun. I have shoot alot of round through it without fail I like having 10+ rounds in a small 3 inch gun. I would buy another Para without concern.

It's also not really about the quality, but the quality control. It's mainly about the move and getting things set up right again. Think of it like this. You've got your home AV center set up just right. Then you move to a new home. Take everything apart, and then reassemble at the new house. Only now, something isn't quite right because you put a cable or two in the wrong place. It will take you some time to get it right again, but you will. Kinda the same thing. The move seems to have caused the problem. Once they get it all straightened out, I'm sure they will be back to trouble free guns again.
Just wait a while.

I own 2, one is a pre PXT 16/40, once I had it rebuilt, trigger, hammer, springs, mag release, ambi safety, mag well, new sights and only used long ammo it is a great gun.
Just bought a new 18/9 and it is having extractor issues. Just ordered the EGW sleeve and extractor, gun is at my gunsmith being gone over for competition. For just a regular 1911 single stack 45 there are better choices out there. S&W, Springfield, Kimber.

I saw one at my local FFL a year ago for like 680 or so, wanted it bad. It had some wear on it and I probally should have picked it up but at the time I wanted a Glock really bad, ended up getting that. They are sweet 1911's, them and colts/RIA/Kimber/Springfield I love.

I had a P13 stainless (commander sized 13 shot double stack 1911). It ate all manner of ammo i put through it but it just wouldn't shoot very well. Before anybody says it I had multiple people I know who are excellent shots go run it with me as well, none of us could turn in decent groups with it. But to be fair, this was in around 2002 and Para has gone through some major changes since then so I cant really comment on current production gun quality.

Depends on the model years. Consensus nowadays with US made newer models isn't that great. PXT has many bad reviews for anything other than .45. The earlier model years apparently were the most reliable.

I have a P-12 45 and it is a good gun....not a "great"gun, but good. I had issues with the feed ramp getting eaten up by some rounds. It had to be polished, but still not 100%. The magazine springs tend to wear pretty easily as well, but a common problem with a gun that is used a lot.

For the money, I think you can get better, but it is still personal pref. If you like it, then I say buy it. There is always going to be someone telling you it is a POS, or that Glocks are etc. I go with the motto "buy what YOU want".

Do a search on Para customer service and see what you get. I would lean to Springfield Armory and Dan Wesson. In SoCal it is tough to find a DW.
