    Need a little help?

So I am set on my next gun purchase which would be a Glock. The only thing I cannot decide on is which one, I am stuck between the 19 and 23. I already have a 9mm and I like the 40 and would like one, my only gripe is the ammo cost. True its only about a 5 dollar difference between a box of 50 of 9mm and 40 but that five dollar difference is big when you are a broke college student and love to shoot lol. I would not mind another 9mm but it would not be my first choice. Should I just go and get the 40 and just risk not shooting it as much, or just say forget it and get another 9mm?

It's 100% your choice. I have a xd .40 and will be picking up my LC9 tomarrow but with a full framed glock the differnce is gonna be (other than the obvious diffence in caliber) bigger bullet vs. faster follow up shot and the Cost of ammo, which at my wal-mart is 10 bucks a box (of 100) in winchester white box. but once again, its your purchase so its your choice. doubt you'll go wrong with either.

      I carry a GEN3 23 off duty. VERY happy.
      I like GEN2/3 19's very much.

Playing with Glocks for 20 years I think that they really shine in 9mm.

      My opinion only.

You already have a 9, so get the .40.

One good thing about the Glock 23 is you can buy an after-market 9MM barrel from Lonewolf and shoot 9 with a barrel and mag change.

        Be well, Bob

          +1. Get the .40 since you got a 9.

I am going to get a Glock 27 in the near future since I got the XD9.

To be very honest I don't see much difference between the two calibers, I have both in Glocks and to be honest I just wish I had passed up the .40 when I purchased it and went with another 9mm. I like to shoot a lot so saving that 5 bucks a box really helps when you want to use the range like every week!

The ever ongoing debate on personal protection in 9mm versus .40 always seems to come down to shoot placement is more important then caliber.

Like others have said the good thing about Glocks is the ability to be able to get a conversation barrel and new mag and you have the convenience of being able to shoot 9mm out of a .40 framed Glock, but if you're a broke college student that $150 for conversion could of gone to ammo that you could be practicing with.

So in the end it's your choice, shoot more get the 9mm. Shoot less get the .40. Both are great guns in the Glock!

I do like the idea of the conversion barrel, but as Shellshocker said, that 150 bucks could go somewhere else.
