    trigger job

I have a Colt 1911 series 70 and it's great except for the trigger pull. Very hard. Is it difficult to do a trigger job or replace the trigger yourself or should it be best to have a gunsmith do the job? I live in Roseville,Ca. Thanks

From the sounds of it, you should probably have a gunsmith do it. My local shop charges $80, money well spent, IMHO.

      Where do you live?

      Hi Virgil,
If you mention where you live, I'll bet you might get some recommendations for a pistolsmith in your area... I would agree that you should probably leave the job to a smith with lots of experience...

Last time I had a trigger job was 10 yrs ago ($50.00) I was not satisfied w/ it.A year later I purchased those semi-prepped hammer/sear , 4 leaf sear spring,16lbs hammer spring and a videki trigger. Satisfied with it, a clean 4-1/2 lbs pull.....Get a gunsmith or buy the stuff through Brownells....Whatever is cheaper..Good luck!
