    Beretta 92 centurion *Range Report*

I have finally had an opportunity to take the Beretta 92fs Centurion out to shoot, and over the course of 3 range trips I have fired 1,000 rounds with absolutely no failures of any type or kind, No fte/ftf/stovepipe/double feed, NADA. 100% reliable and never slowed down or skipped a beat whatsoever.

I shot with a standard "combat" style grip, strong hand only, weak hand only, purposely limp wristed trying to induce a malfunction, weak hand "combat" style grip, fired slow fire, double taps, el presidente drills, seibel drills, three bull drills, etc etc, no a single issue...ever. Heck, I even mixed up ammo in the mag, one FMJ followed by a JHP, no stoppages.

Bottom line is that this is typical of all the beretta pistols I have tested, It is utterly reliable, will eat whatever you feed it, it is more accurate than the user is likely to ever be, recoil impulse is minimal and the front sight barely hops out of the rear notch making for fast follow ups, control is easy and the weapon is smooth overall in its operation.

I have fired the following ammo

    115 gr winchester ranger JHP
    147 gr Winchester ranger JHP
    124 gr Cor bon JHP
115 gr winchester white box FMJ
    115 gr Remington UMC FMJ
    115 gr Federal champion FMJ

The pistol shoots about 1.5 inches right for me at 12 yds but I can keep 8 out of 10 rds in a group slightly smaller than a quarter at that distance with the two flyers being about half inch to one inch from the main group(my fault)

I have a trigger job that makes it easier to shoot the weapon with a decent degree of accuracy, now I just need to shift the sight so the groups are center instead of an inch and a half right.

Anyone have a sight pusher I can use

Pics need to be rotated clockwise so the group is to the right of the target.

1911whore, looks like you scored a winner. I on the other hand have hand some issues with my 92fs. Thinking of trying a Wolff guide rod and a 15 or 16lb spring to see if that helps.

First trip to the range had a bunch of fail to feeds using Remington UMC. After that (with the help of the Calguns community) I bought some mec gars mags and switched to WWB ammo.

                      Second trip no issues.

Third trip I forgot to lube er up and a ton of fail to feeds.

Fourth time out fully lubed using both factory and mec gars I was having issues with the round not fully chambering. I would have to push the slide shut the rest of the way a few times.

That's why I'm thinking the factory 13lb recoil spring might be too light.

I was also looking at Buffer Technologies Recoil Buffer and Recoil Spring Guide Rod, but I do not know if that will fit in my 92fs.

                      Your thoughts?

I will not use Remington ammo. Its crap. Underpowered, and the recoil pulse is different from shot to shot...

I have seen other complaints about Berettas not working right - 1 guy even payed a gunsmith to diagnose the problem. The problem was the UMC ammo. His gun worked 100% with everything else.
