    Nighthawk GRP or Predator II?

    So here's what happened:
I ordered a Nighthawk Custom GRP (not the Recon model) about five months ago, last week my dealer told me my gun showed up but it was a Recon model for a different customer. I called Nighthawk and they said my gun is another 3 weeks away, I thought "oh well it'll be here soon". Today my dealer called me and said he got in a Nighthawk Predator II in sniper gray if I didn't want to wait any longer, but it does cost $675 more. I already own a Springfield TRP Operator full rail so I thought a 4 inch would go nicely with it. So any suggestions or thoughts?

Are you okay with the heavier weight barrel or do you prefer a traditional barrel?

I just looked up the Predator II in sniper gray, I say go for it.

        That's a sweet piece.

I have a GRP and a full rail TRP as well. They compliment each other (and oterh 1911's I have) well. I steered away from the Predator because I personally don't care for the donut at the end of the barrel. Just odd.

Wait for the cheaper gun and send me the $675...

I have a full-size Predator and it's a great gun. Don't mind the heavier barrel...keeps muzzle from rising.

Had both before, the recoil reduction on the Predator II is rediculous.. I'd go predator...

There are some serious 1911 whores posting, including myself

I like my GRP, but the predator is unique, although a 4" isn't as popular as a 5" predator.
                  I say go for a 5" predator.

Also He got a Les Baer Thunder Ranch and that's much cheaper than both of them, any thoughts on that?

                      Thuder ranches are great.
How much are they asking, if you don't mind of course?

The Les Baer TRS is a tank built 1911, I can't comment on the 4" Predator II, but everything I've handled from Nighthawk has been top notch among the semi custom shops

Thunder ranch is $1800, I was thinking about it but wasn't sure.

More I read about the Thunder Ranch more I like it but Predator II is just so damn gorgeous, especially in that sniper grey! Maybe I'll sell my Veridian and a spare EoTech and get the Predator II... I think I'm even more confused now than when I started this LOL
