    CCR Refinishing

I was wondering if any of the members here have used them before for any refinishing needs?
I am particularly looking at their boron Nitride coating
It would be a slide on a Glock

If so a couple questions for you

How is the finish holding up?
Did they return work on time?
Why did you choose CCR versus other refinishers?

    Thank you for your help

Yes they redid my Springfield XD45 and it was amazing. It resembles the Sig P220 ST stainless finish.

They are a mom and pop shop so they were a little slow. Took several phone calls to get them moving.

I chose them because of their reputation with SIG owners and the price was right versus others.

I am going to use them for my Fulton Armory later on when I'm done buying guns. Which might be never.

djslik thank you for the reply

From the research I have done I have found results pretty much similar to yours
takes some time but the results are worth it and the price is right

        Hi Joe....

I've heard good things about CCR as well. Several of my GlockTalk and CalGuns friends have used them and they are completely satisfied.!

Being a mom and Pop operation they do get backed up once in a while. (the Bell Curve of being so good you have too much work).

I have yet to decide what process I want on my latest project. A Glock 10MM longslide. The Lonewolf stainless finish really SUCKS (apparently bead blasted..LOL ) so I am thinking about CCR and their Nickel Finish (boron nitrite finish or CP-II as CCR calls it....OR....

        The Robar's NP-3 finish....hard to decide....

Robar also has a more expensive silver coating (same as NP3) called NP-3 PLUS which looks great as well. It's only money.

My new longslide project...actually looks terrible in person..the camera cleans up the bead-blasted finish..I am absolutely going to redo the slide soon.

Another FrankenGlock I own with the NP3 silver...it really it a good combination.

        Good luck to you.

I was first looking at the Robar guns but when I found similar results at less money that is what spiked my interest

How is the finish holding up bottom gun?

It looks like the savings would be pretty noticeable at like $40 minimum
For CCR to do the slide it would be $79
then I also asked them how much it would be to do the extended slide release

I sent CCR an old Browning T-bolt that was COMPLETELY rusted all over. When I got it back (yes, they are a little slow), with the exception of some very minor pitting, it was like a brand new rifle. CCR is GTG.

So it sounds like the only downfall of them is that they are not the quickest
              But that is known

Oldnoob have you had any work done by that shop you suggest?
I took a quick look and it appears they do more coatings/paints as opposed to chemical treatments?

Bjkearns. I am having a DuraCoat Finish put on my Kimber Classic Stainless. Berge Kirkorian of KFW is doing the work for me. I have started a thread about the progress. There is another post here of a bobtailed Kimber he put together and DuraCoated for a CalGunner. He does great work and works out of Ole Boy Outdoors in Bakersfield.

I got my 1911 back after 1 year but they forgot the magwell. I'm still waiting for it and it has been 6 months to date.

Great job - beware of turnaround time ...

They have my recommendation and my business

I have had them cera plate 2 guns for me and the finish is very nice. I wanted to reproduce a stainless look and it came out great.

They are refinsihing a 1911 for me right now and doing some custom gunsmithing for me also.

Their turn around times are reasonable for the work being done and in fact faster than many other companies that I have had custom work done at.

I would recommend this company as reliable and thier work is of the highest quality.

The finish on my P228 slide and controls is holding up fine. They returned my slide and parts within 2 weeks as promised, I chose they because they have specials, and the prices are right.

I had my Sig SP2340 slide finished in CCR's House Black about a year ago. The finish has a nice deep luster to it, although it's a bit slick, and it repels fingerprints well. Turnaround time for me was about 6 weeks; I'd definitely use them again.
