Recommended Book/Video on CA Handgun Ownership

    Hello Calguns,

Havn't really introduced myself, i've just really been trolling the classified section.

Well i've finally found a glock 19 and picked it up from a local pawn shop and i'm currently in my 10 day process.

So, while i wait. I want your recommendations on any decent Handgun ownership videos / books.

I'm really looking for a video/book talking about basic things about handgun ownership, and also information on the laws in CA.

I've read about the self defense laws and stuff, but i want a little more info. Any good recommendations?

I think your best bet is to take that Glock and go take a pistol course. Hands on training with range time is going to help you more then books and videos.

A good place to start is to use the NRA course search and take a basic pistol course. From there you can look into more advance courses. http://www.nrainstructors.org/searchcourse.aspx

As far as self defense laws go, just keep reading the site here. Especially the 2A forum where a lot of the self defense questions get asked and answered a lot. Here is an example http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=484713 Pay close attention to those that post actual PC (penal code) versus just personal opinion.

Just use the search function/google search/Self defense calguns for more articles.

Good luck and grats on new purchase!

That's the right book; the class is a good idea; and see also the Calguns Foundation Wiki.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
