    Circumcised Bullet?

Looked through a box of ammo I just bought, and came across this rimless one. .45ACP Federal Champion I believe, should I just glue a rim to it? Would hate to be wasteful. Or is this some sort of tactical ammo? Maybe high speed low drag, because of the reduced weight of having no rim?

      Save it. That's pretty funny.

On the other hand... if some poor bastard loaded that up for "business" without noticing the defect, it could have gotten him killed.

In all seriousness it shocked me because I didn't notice it at first. I always look for obvious problems in my ammo and everything seemed normal, until I was putting it back and it fell out of my finger grasp.

But I now have it completely separate from my ammo and pistols.

Wow! Interesting round, I think you should send the pics to Federal and see what they say.

Never say no, cause no sounds just like go.

They live for the opportunity to be called to duty to protect the innocent. The sheepdog has fangs and the propensity for violence but hopes that he will not have to resort to it. However, he lives for that day when he will be able to use his warrior skills and mindset to keep the wolf from harming the sheep."

I would shoot an email to federal with the following
the lot number on the box
                and
                a link to this thread

O ya there is clearly an issue with that round
I would go through the rest of the box and check them all
O ya do not fire them till you hear back from Federal

This is a good reminder for all shooter

Lmao, looks pretty funny with out a rim. Im sure it will fire but would definetly not eject! Save it and also like others hace said, email Federal, may get a box of ammo out of it!

Well... ya know... .45ACP IS a "rimless" cartridge!

That's pretty crazy! Definitely e-mail a pic over to Federal to see what they say.
