Hey guys, Im looking for a cheap handgun for my wife to have, The reason behind cheap is because if she decides she doesn't like shooting I'm not out much. Please don't say "save another 200 and get a glock" because there is no need for one as of now. I don't really think a hi-point will workout. Thanks in advance.

Hmmm.... I might be selling a few guns in or lower than that price range. I am looking for trades right now, but if that doesn't work out I will most likely sell them.
Is there any requirements for your wifes gun.
Caliber?
Semi or Revolver?

^^^ this. Except it's a lot more expensive to rent where I am. $15 per handgun plus you buy ammo from them.
Also, what exactly are you looking for? A range toy for her? Something she would like for HD? What caliber? Something more compact? All of these should be her decision and not yours.
Based on what you've said so far and the fact that she probably hasn't shot a lot, I would suggest a Ruger Mark 22/45 (pretty easy to shoot) or a Walther P22 (pretty fun to shoot, similar to a semi-auto, but it's also harder to be accurate with. Good, I guess, so you can work on fundamentals).Comment

I'm going to agree with the rental idea. Let her pick what she wants to shoot, rent 4 or 5 of them, and let her choose. 60 bucks now and 5-600 later getting her what she likes is going to be worth way more than 250 now and her being turned off on shooting for the rest of your life."The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. I tend a agree that she needs to try out a few different options. You might even be able to find out through renting at the range whether shooting is something she will like or not.
Another option is to buy something that you would be happy with keeping for yourself even if she doesn't like shooting.
One other thing to think about. Suppose you find a handgun in the price range you're looking at, and she does take to shooting, and decides that her standards out grow this el cheapo pistol? Then you'll be minus the $250 or so you spent on that, and whatever you're going to have to spend buying her something better.Comment
