LC9 Vs SR9c Vs CZ75 2075 Vs. ???

Well, I just bought my LC9 with 2 mags, and a couple little extras. There is nothing at all wrong with the gun, its just very small and I expected that. I am considering selling it because I just can't seem to get used to the trigger. I'm all over the place even at short distances. I've shot plenty of D/A in my time and am used to DAO revolvers, glocks, striker fired weapons and the lot, but this one I just can't seem to be consistent with at all much less try and call them groups. Even at 7 yards, I was just barely making center mass shots. To me, for a carry weapon this is unacceptable. I'm considering an SR9c, CZ75 2075 Rami, or something else. I'm not a huge fan of the Kahr PM9/CW9 for personal reasons so I didn't really want one of those. I've owned an XD9SC and loved it but it was a bit thick for CCW for my preference. I hate glock and won't shoot them even though they are a work horse, I just can't seem to shoot so please don't mention that. Am I missing something here. I'm specifically going for a 9mm, I don't want a revolver, and the thinner the better. I'm in WAY Nor-Cal so nobody within a 5 hour drive does a SSE so I could look at a diamondback 9 or even a Kel-Tec or anything so thats pretty much out of the picture for an option. What do you guys think?

My goal is a quality compact 9mm with a 7 round or greater capacity, thin as possible, well made, and something that would be a small print for CCW.

The LC9 gives me no problems at all. I am not fond of how long it takes before the trigger breaks and the hammer falls. But I can work around it. I feel for as heavy and long the LC9 trigger is, it's pretty accurate. Try and work with it.

The Ruger SR9C is an excellent choice. The guys in the Ruger forums recommend the Stainless Steel model because some black models were chipping around the muzzle.

The S&W M&P Compact is another winner.

I own an SR9C and it is one of my most accurate 9's, even out to 25yds, it is right there with any of my longer sight radius 9mm's.

I did install a Ghost Rocket trigger bar, mainly to eliminate over travel, but even before that the SR9C was one of my favorite 9's.

It has been 100% reliable. I own one of the all black versions and had no problems.

I think if you shoot one, you will likely buy one.

I don't know if it's on roster, but if you're looking for thin the Walther PPS is pretty darn thin.

I'd like to shoot the SR9c to see how I like it but there are no rentals around here and nobody that I know who owns one.

Anybody have an opinion on the CZ75. I REALLY like that it has a true hammer rather than a hidden hammer or striker fired weapon, and have always been a fan of an open hammer. I've fired the standard CZ75B but never the compact version.

I know you want to try a sr9c first, to see how it feels (and you should). The trigger on the SR9 is way different from the compact SR9C. The SR9C has a very crisp and short trigger pull. The reset very nice too! Definitely get one to try, and you will definitely buy one. There is just something really nice about the ergos of the SR9C. I tried my friends, and now I am waiting my 10 days for mine.

Interesting. I didn't think the C model was any different than the regular SR9 model so I'd be interested in a side-by-side comparison of the triggers.

the CZ 75 compact, and the full size have the same trigger system, so will have a very similar feel.

Personally I would look a different way. I love CZ's, but even the compacts are very heavy. Even the RAMI Poly model is pretty hefty.

I have always been particularly sensitive to a gun's trigger and its effect on my ability to shoot tight groups. I may be the biggest trigger whiner on the planet, always opting for trigger jobs and new springs, just to get my guns shooting consistently. I think that is why I love 1911's so much.

I have springs sets and improved triggers on all my 9's, it makes that big a difference in my shooting. I think my ability to shoot the SR9C so well probably goes beyond just the trigger though.

I cannot give a clinical review of why the gun is so good for me, it is just one of those guns that seems to shoot where I point it with very little effort, my bad days with it are generally better than some of my best days with most of my other higher priced 9's. Only my 1911's will consistently outshoot my SR9C.

Don't know of weight is of concern, but the sig 239 might be worth a look.

Sig p239 is a great gun, my brother carries one and he loves it. It is a fantastic shooter and I found myself liking it quite a bit. I did find it to be just a tad to heavy and large for a warm weather CC gun but for cold weather it would be great.

May we ask why you aren't a fan of the Kahr pistols? A Kahr CW9 would fit all of your mentioned criteria for width, capacity, and cost. Alot of people knock on Kahrs for reliability, but honestly if you are patient enough to get a good one you won't regret it. Sometimes we all need to compromise when it comes to the "perfect gun". Although, some newer options to consider (as of today) are the Kimber Solo and the Beretta Nano if you can get one.
