Question about Glock 357's

I see plenty of used glock's for sale in 9mm,40.,45,10mm but never 357. Is it that good of gun no one sells or is it a poor choice to buy? Thanx for your input.

It's a little more expensive round for similar energies that a light 40 or hot 9mm can offer. The Glocks chambered in them are no different than those chambered in other calibers, in fact they use a lot of exactly the same parts you'll find in a 40 S&W Glock (slide, ejector, extractor, frame, magazines, etc.)

Plus they're way harder to reload than 40 or 9mm.

I reload .40 and have several Glocks in .40 caliber. I recently bought a used Glock 27 and while I never thought about getting a .357 SIG handgun, I did come across an after-market barrel in .357 sig so I bought it. All it takes is a barrel swap and for about $100 you have another caliber. The weapon runs 100% in either caliber. The .357 SIG has more speed and is very accurate as well.

Kinda fun and that's what owning and shooting handguns is all about.

I also had another slide that had been coated...so I put together a FRANKEN-GLOCK in .357 SIG. Since the magazines are the same, I can run my 13 round Glock 23 mags no problem. (13+1)

Not a poor choice to buy. FMJ can be found online for a little over that of .45ACP. Barrel can be swapped for instant .40SW. .357Sig energy tops that of .40 and .9mm +p+, and shoots very flat and accurately. It is a really fun and impressive round. If you have doubts, get a .40SW and do the barrel conversion in reverse...for whatever difference that makes. Anyway, you'll like it.

Awesome round. Me and my friends love it but if you plan on shooting it alot its just too expensive.

The .357 sigs are kind of uncommon as everybody said. They are popular in the law enforcement/fed agency scene though. I believe the secret service, us marshals, and alot of state police departments use it.

.357 sig is supposed to mimic the ballistics of a .357 magnum revolver, in a high capacity pistol. 357 sig is supposed to be penetrate better than 9mm, and transfer more energy than .45acp while shooting flatter, further, and more accurate than most other pistol cartridges.

I love the round and bought a glock 31 the other day. I am getting a 9mm conversion barrel for it to plink with at the range, but will leave it in normal config at home for hd/sd.

The .40S&W is the top cartridge adopted by Federal and state LE agencies.
But, .357SIG has the next biggest following amongst Federal and state LE agencies.

BATFE, DEA, FBI, ICE, NCIS, US Coast Guard, US Marshals and 27 state law enforcement agencies have adopted the .40S&W.
Federal Air Marshals, US Secret Service and 8 state law enforcement agencies have adopted the .357SIG.

Currently, no Federal or state LE agency issues a Glock in .357SIG.
In the past, the Federal Air Marshals and the NM State police issued Glocks in .357SIG.
Federal Air Marshals currently issue SIG P-229s and NM State Police issue S&W M&P-357s.

The .357SIG is mainly for over penetration and high velocity fanboys like myself. Only a select few have them...


But when you have a .40SW casing with a 9mm bullet, it's kinda the best of both worlds...unfortunately, for ammo availablity and cost are its downfall.
