handgun cleaning?

I'm about to get my first handgun and i was wondering what are the things I need to clean and lube my gun? I was thinking of getting froglube and boresnake and maybe Im set. Should I just get those gun cleaning kits? I tried to search the site but gave me lots of results that are not really related to my question. If you guys haved bookmarked any tips on how to do this to, i would appreciate it. thanks!

Cleaning kit with rod, brush & Jag in your caliber, some type of cleaning oil & lube, rags and cleaning patches. Check youtube sure you can find a demo video.
