the two things that drive me nuts above everything else in cali....1 my CCW from my home state is not recognized even though im active duty and 2 no high cap magazines allowed...

Indiana gun laws

Indiana is known for having some of the most enlightened gun laws in the US. Indiana recognizes CCW permits from every other state, as described on the Indiana State Police website under FAQ:

I am a resident of another state and I have a valid handgun license issued by my home state. Does Indiana honor my states license?
Yes. Indiana honors valid handgun licenses issued by another state.

It is unfortunate that CA does not have a similar law.
