Most people use this for concealed carry, check out Glock talk forums for tons of info.
Its just thinner and single stack with no rail......
If no concealed carry option, i would opt for a G30. Unless you have small hands.....SA TRP Half rail, Glock 21SF, Spikes St-15, Ruger Alaskan .44, Saiga 7.62, GSSF Member

I have a Glock 36 and like it a lot. Light weight, VERY slim and compact. The grip is slightly awkward but is still easy to shoot with. A Glock 19 feels better in hand than a 36 to me.
The Glock 30 is a brick. Great gun but man is it a brick. Thick. Heavy. Short grip.Comment

Really, it depends on how big your hands are. To me a full size Glock 20 fits my hand perfectly. I can palm a basketball and I have big socks.
I loves my Glocks thirty...

My brother has an OD 36, I have a black one.
We're both quite happy with them. The only limitation seems to be it's magazine capacity which is offset by how slim it is. I have larger hands and still like how it feels, not awkward in my opinion.
If mag capacity is an issue for you just go with the 30.Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.

Dang Jeremy......oops....I don't have a Glock 36
Seriously I was never impressed with a 6 round defensive handgun. I'd rather carry a GLOCK 30 or if I really need to slim down a Glock 19....or if I had to stick to .45 auto my Colt stainless officers model works well.
Another idea would be a FrankenGlock on a GLOCK 27 frame with running 13 round (13+1) in the mags. Easy to grip and .40 is a good caliber.

I have a black G36 and an OD G36. I had the black G36 on my CCW permit and just recently changed it for a S&W 686 2.5" because I shoot the revolver better and prefer not having to search for my spent brass.I was just wondering in general does anyone have a Glock 36 and possible is it in OD? I was wondering what do you guys think about the Glock 36, of course from first hand experience. Reason is after thinking long about it for my next firearm. I would like a Glock 36 possible in OD, since my OD26 is being borrowed for a long while.
The G36 is an ideal conceal carry gun and tucks away better than the other
Glocks because of the thin width. The advantage for me for the G36 over a subcompact G26/27 is that it has a full grip and shoots .45acp. The disadvantage is that it only holds 6+1, but it's only a disadvantage if you aren't comfortable with 6 round mags. I'm not bothered by it and always carry an extra mag anyways.
The G36 is a fun gun to shoot and mine is totally reliable. I've shot several thousand rounds through the black G36 and about 50 through the OD one. I prefer the OD gun's color but the black G36 has proven itself totally reliable with so many rounds that I couldn't give up on shooting it.
The only gun that I've found that can replace the G36 for CCW is my 686+ because it shoots like a dream, doesn't eject it's brass, carries the same number of rounds (7) and handles .357 magnum with little recoil.
I would recommend the G36 for sure.Last edited by jdg30; 10-19-2011, 8:22 PM.Comment

You mean like this one

It has been on my hip pretty much every day for the past 3 years and has never let me down. It has never failed to go bang for me and is very easy to conceal. I am 5'10" 135lbs and it dissapears on my no problem. I don't think they are still making the OD model, but you may be able to find one used. There are internet horror stories about how unreliable the 36 is, but that seems to have been just an issue with the very first batches. Buy a new one, and carry it with confidence. It does have some kick to it being small and light, but it is not at all uncomfortable for me. I put 300 rounds thu her yesterday at the range, and no pain to my hands. I trust my life to mine and would have no problem recomending it to anyone.Violence is seldom the answer, but when it is the answer it is the only answerComment
