Well the 5-7 is currently on roster, it's just a matter if FNH decides to renew it or not.

Since the FNX won't be CA rosterable, I don't think they'd let it lapse.

        but *shrug*

also.. the 5-7 really is a great showpiece of FNH's capability, I really don't see them letting it lapse.

        but once again.. *shrug*

Not sure if you know the joke behind that, but when the OLL thing came into being there was a CA-DOJ desk jocky who kept saying all AR-15 lowers would be banned by name in two weeks, so far, years down the road, still hasent happened.

I dont see it being banned, might fall off the roster, but probably not.

The Fnp 5.7 is on the DOJ roster until 03/23/2012 and USG model until 04/12/2012. After that Fn would have to re up and pay the fees.

              On the roster:

              FN 5.7 I.O.M. (Matte Black) / Steel, Polymer Pistol 4.8" 5.7x28mm 3/23/2012

              FN 5.7 U.S.G. (Matte Black) / Steel, Polymer Pistol 4.8" 5.7x28mm 4/12/2012

Note that the IOM is no longer in production and the major difference between the two is the shape of trigger guard.

Five-seveN is a great gun. Very low recoil and shoots flat, due to 5.7x28mm's high velocity. The only down side for me is the grip, which feels awkward in hands. It doesn't feel as nice as 1911's, Sig's. I'll say this one has the wrost grip among all my semi-auto handguns. However, due to the low recoil, which is just a little bit stronger than a .22, one should be able to hit a small target in 15 yards without any problem. Well, for some people, the other downside for this gun is that you don't feel the "power" when you shoot (some people prefer stronger recoil when they shoot). Also, this gun has that magazine disconnect, another un-favorable among shooters.

If you're struggling to buy one new, why not get one used? I always see someone selling theirs at the for sale forum.

FNH 5.7x28 will not be banned in CA. If it didn't get banned back when the ATF was saying Mexican Cartels had them in their hands because they were capable of penetrating police vest, they wont be banned now.

All my friends who've fired one say the same thing.

Personally, I find the grip fits my hand perfectly. But, I haven't encountered another person (not even any of the employees at the range where I've rented 5-7's) to say it's comfortable for them.

                        Seriously.

I wonder if I can exchange my friends for new ones, or maybe I should suggest they get aftermarket hands

                            http://www.markleysguns.com/ does.

One of the reps at Target Masters in Milpitas said they planned on getting a 5-7 rental in after an upgrade to the rubber backstops on the range. But I haven't seen that happen yet.
